“In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” – Carl Rogers

I believe that the single most important factor in therapy is the relationship between a person and their counselor. I want you to know about me so that you can make an informed decision about whether I am the right person to support you in your work.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade in a variety of roles ranging from case management to counselor to program director. I graduated from Drew University with my BA in Psychology and John Jay College with my MA in Mental Health Counseling.

My interests and professional experiences have always tended toward the area of human sexuality with a focus on individuals who are frequently under-served and misunderstood. This includes members of the LGBTQ+ community as well as those whose sexual interests and behaviors have led to misunderstandings and challenges.

I pride myself on my caring and person-centered approach to therapy. I treat individuals and help them achieve their goals, rather than treating diagnoses or criminal records. I use humor and genuine human curiosity liberally in my work.
