Insurances Accepted: Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Cigna. Note that evaluations and assessments are typically not covered by commercial insurances.
All services offered by Welcome Connections Counseling are also available by private pay. I accept payment by cash, check or charge at the time of service.

Why Private Pay?
Many of the clients that I see are seeking support in sensitive areas related to their sexuality. My private pay options offer individuals the anonymity and full confidentiality that they may require to take the brave step of seeking help. Insurance companies collect data, including: frequency of visits, types of visits, diagnosis codes (required for medical necessity), treatment plans, and have access to progress notes, treatment summaries, and diagnostic assessment evaluations. In addition to privacy concerns, the low reimbursement rates, the amount of paperwork and high denial rate often make insurance reimbursement cost prohibitive for many counselors. I am happy to talk to you in more detail about the potential benefits to seeking services through private pay.
No Surprises Act
In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their Federal rights and protections against “surprise billing.”
This Act requires that we notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if a client is uninsured, or if a client elects not to use their insurance.
Additionally, we are required to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services. When you schedule your appointment with Welcome Connections Counseling you will receive this estimate. Should you choose to be seen at Welcome Connections Counseling and not utilize your insurance, you consent to paying the negotiated self-pay rate regardless of your insurance company's out-of-network reimbursement rate.
